We all know banning abortion is a restriction of freedom, a stranglehold on the breath of what is supposed to make this country great. Honestly, its people like the South Dakota legislature that make this country shameful.
The government, neither state nor federal, has any right to tell you how to live your life. And this means indirectly as well as directly. There is no basis for banning abortion, none, there are opinions and there is religion, and thats it. No fact. There is fact to support pro-choicers as well as opinions. a stronger position. Because of this, old white men who think blacks should be slaves again are afraid of the power of the people, and which to restrict their freedom by any means necessary.
Again, republicans and social conservatives don’t actually care about children, or unborn fetuses or whatever, they only care about control. You personally may care about the fetus, but thats not what the people in charge are basing their shitty legislation on. They want more control and less freedom for the people, and that is the republican slogan.
PIERRE, S.D. — An abortion rights group Tuesday submitted more than twice the number of the signatures needed to hold a statewide vote in November on whether to repeal South Dakota’s ban on abortion.
The Legislature earlier this year passed the strictest abortion law in the nation, banning all abortions except those necessary to save a woman’s life. The law, scheduled to take effect July 1, makes no exceptions for rape or incest.
The measure was aimed at sparking a court fight that supporters hope will lead to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that established the right to an abortion.
The South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families said it turned in more than 38,000 signatures for a statewide referendum. The South Dakota secretary of state’s office will check the validity of the signatures and determine whether the measure qualifies for the ballot.
Oh the measure qualifies alright, and the white hicks I mentioned earlier are going to get afraid, and probably pull some illegal, cover maneuver to keep it off the ballot. Why would the South Dakota government feel the need to restrict people’s choices? Why do they think those who need/want abortions won’t just go across the border? Stupidity maybe? Who knows, all we know is that it is bad legislation based on the need to control women and citizens alike. Even JhWhicker wouldn’t approve because they won’t perform abortions for women who’ve been raped.
Whatever, be an inferior state, get people to move out and lose your economy, I don’t care, i don’t live there. But I do care, I care about the people who no longer can make a choice. If I lived there, you bet your ass I would ignore that law if I had to. My girlfriend would get an abortion, and I would put the fetus right on the lawmaker’s desk and then have sex on his rug and do it again! Just show him that America will not be bullied, we will not be shoved, pushed aside, quelled, subdued, controlled, or restricted no matter how much you brainwash the lesser men and women among us.
