Where does the Army stand on a surge in troops?
It seems that at least some of the soldiers on the ground in Iraq do not support a surge in U.S. military troops.

many members of the military are on their second and third rotations to Iraq. they are tired and simply want to return home. one of my closest friends (in the military) is pregnant (stationed in alaska) as her husband is completing his 2nd tour in Iraq. He will return for his third tour this summer. they both want him home. these guys (and girls) need a break.

Good article Jacki…and good comment Terp.
When I called for additional troops, I really had several hundred thousand in mind which probably would have necessitated a draft. Even with those numbers, it is questionable as to whether they would be effective at this late date.
Had this been done in the beginning of our involvement when Saddam was first toppled, the situation could have been locked down, none of this crap would have happened, and we could have been the hell out of there by this time.
As to a mere thirty thousdand troops, I agree with the soldiers quoted in the article; they would have little effect…and their exposure would have been increased for naught.
