There are two types of people in regards to politics. There are those who complain about politics and then there are those who do something about it. I definitely want to be in the "do something about it" camp. Today, I went down and filed for the Republican Precinct Committeeman position from my precinct here in Boise.
The job pays nothing and ideally involves one meeting a month, and maybe some projects. Though, I intend to shut up and listen for the first few months, feel out what people stand for, and what’s going on.
Of course, this isn’t my first venture into offcial Republican Party politics. I served as a Precinct Committeeman in Flathead County from 2000-2002 and then from 2002-2003 . (about a 6 month break in service) before being exalted to the high and awesome perch of County Party Secretary in the 2003 leadership elections before having to resign when I moved to Idaho.
So, ready or not, Ada County Republican Party, here I come.
