LCS Playoffs

This year, I actually got two out of four of my LDS predictions right. (Perhaps, I should stick to picking the NL.)

Now, let’s take a look at the League Championship Series. First in the AL:

The A’s have got the better ace in former Cy Young winner Barry Zito, however after that Detroit’s got solid pitching. What I really like about the Tigers is that they’ve got a good solid mix of Veterans and younger players. What I like about Detroit’s veterans is that they’re quality player like Ivan Rodriguez who four years ago went all the way with the Marlins.

On the A’s side, you don’t have anybody who’s a real leader who has been through this thing before (unless you count losing in the first round several times.)

All that considered, I’m going to say Detroit 4-2.

In the National League, it’s a much tougher series to pick. The Mets should be odds on favorites to make it to the Series, but they’re missing Pedro Martinez and former World Series MVP Livan Hernandez. On the bright Chris Carpenter will only go twice in this series, once in game 3 and once in Game 7. The Mets are in trouble if they have a play a game 7 and I think they will.

My prediction; Cardinals 4-3.
